But as soon as you play in handheld mode it really becomes a slideshow. The game does run fairly well on tv, with some staggering and frame drops. I haven’t played the PS4 or Xbox One versions of the game, but I have the feeling it doesn’t run much better on those platforms as well. The game also runs pretty bad on Nintendo Switch. The main collectible, little purple rocks that act like coins in Mario, don’t make a satisfying sound when collecting them. One of the things that rubbed me the wrong way most was the lack of sound effects during gameplay. And the music isn’t really fitting for a kid friendly 3D platformer. Speaking of music that’s something this game is reallt lacking, overall it’s good but it’s way too quiet and sometimes just stops playing all together. The cutscenes are also mostly broken with sound effects and music that don’t play at the right time. It also comes with a couple of graphical glitches, for example Scrat’s model stutters and there is a weird shadow that follows him in the ground. The games does look pretty good for a modern kids game, but it’s not overwhelming. Sometimes it happen on accident, sometimes I was trying to break the game for fun. I was able to glitch through walls and even the ground with ease in a good number of stages. This game needed more time in the oven, it can be glitches and is rough around the edges. However, again, it does have it’s fair share of problems. It does have it’s flaws but I can see that there was some kind of passion behind this project. It does have it’s flaws but I can see that there was some kind of Ice Age: Scrat’s Nutty Adventure is not a bad game or a bad cash grab.
